Do you need to fix your data before starting with AI?
Good data matters. But does every company really need to clean, restructure and centralize everything before AI can start creating value?

“First we need to fix our data. Then we'll start with AI.”
We hear this a lot. And at first, it sounds entirely reasonable.
Reliable, complete and well-organized data is important — particularly when AI is involved in analysis and decision-making.
But does that mean a business should postpone AI until all of its information has been cleaned, restructured and brought into one place?
For many organizations, that process can take months. Sometimes years. And while it is happening, new data continues to accumulate.
Our experience with ABI suggests that companies don't always need to wait.
Businesses already operate today with information distributed across different systems, documents, spreadsheets, emails and people. That information is rarely perfectly structured, yet teams are still able to use it to understand situations, make decisions and run their processes.
AI can start from the same reality.
It can perform specific business tasks while simultaneously helping identify missing information, connect related data, detect inconsistencies and gradually introduce more structure.
This is something we increasingly see in Neural Brothers projects.
Companies often begin by asking whether they should first organize their data before introducing AI. After they start working with ABI, they frequently discover that AI itself can become part of that process.
The goal is not to ignore data quality.
It is to stop treating perfect data as a prerequisite for getting started.
You don't necessarily need to organize everything before you start with AI.
You can use AI to help you start organizing everything.
